Recipe Tips
-
tip 1
Streusel, a German word meaning “sprinkle” or “strew,” is a crumbly topping made with flour, sugar, butter and sometimes spices. Just as its name suggests, streusel is sprinkled over coffee cakes, muffins and pies.
-
tip 2
Unlike many types of fruits, pears improve in both texture and flavor after they’re picked. Choose pears that are free of blemishes and soft spots, and store them at room temperature until ripe.
