Little hands will love dunking biscuit-wrapped meatballs into yummy marinara sauce.
Ingredients
-
12
small (1 1/2-inch) precooked meatballs, homemade or store-bought
-
2 1/4
cups Original Bisquick™ mix
-
2/3
cup milk
-
2
tablespoons butter, melted
-
1/4
cup shredded Parmesan cheese
-
Tomato sauce, as desired
Steps
-
1Heat oven to 450°F.
-
2If meatballs are frozen, heat them briefly 1 to 2 minutes in the microwave so they’re just thawed. They don’t need to be hot all the way through, since they’ll be going in the oven.
-
3In medium bowl, stir together Bisquick™ mix and milk until it forms a dough. On surface lightly sprinkled with Bisquick™ mix, roll dough 1/4 inch thick. Use 3-inch round cutter to cut 12 circles. Wrap meatballs in dough circles; brush bottoms with melted butter, then arrange evenly in ungreased 8-inch square baking dish or 9 1/2-inch round pie plate. Brush tops and sides with remaining butter; sprinkle evenly with cheese.
-
4Bake at least 12 minutes until tops are slightly browned and dough is cooked through.
-
5Serve with tomato sauce for dipping.
Recipe Tips
-
tip 1
These freeze really well! Make a bunch, keep them in the freezer, and then reheat them in the microwave for a quick snack.
-
tip 2
Any type of meatball will work with this. I like using turkey, but chicken and beef will work, too.
-
tip 3
Add your own flair by mixing any desired seasonings into the biscuit dough or by topping the balls with seasonings or cheeses other than Parmesan.
